Correcting Typos in PuTTY
Boy howdy do I need to remember these! lol
- Backspace key - Works as expected to erase text
- Delete key - Deletes letter under cursor
- Arrow keys - Navigate as expected
- End key - Takes you to the end of command line
- Ctrl+U - Erase the line you have just typed back to the command prompt
- Copy text - Highlight the text with your mouse or double-click a single word to select. Navigate to the place you want to
paste the text and right click.
Some Basic Commands
- date [date and time at server]
- calendar [add year or month and year to display calendar. a -3 flag will previous/current/next months]
- uname [shows what OS the server uses. -a flag adds release/version number, individual host server name, server date, hardware details]
- exit or logout [to properly close session]
