Layers are a very, Very, VERY good thing! Almost everything I do in PSP anymore is in layers! They allow you to move things around, change blend modes, shrink, stretch, pull or eliminate things with ease. New tips and tricks with layers are always welcome here at the Cathouse.
First we pulled out some flowers and arranged them on a black background and added a vector shape. Then the black background was eliminated and a white one was substituted and a dropshadow added. Finally, for this part of the exercise, I went back to the black background, added vector text to the image with a drop shadow, added a sunburst effect to the black background, colorized it, then softened. After that, I added another sunburst on top of the entire image to get some of the sparkles across the front and finished it with a PSP edge from the Frames file.
