Further Adventures with Cat-Ti-Tude:
Scratching the Surface of DreamweaverMX
[aka: "eeegads! debbieT is gonna try to get *me* to behave"]
[week 1]You've all heard the fairy tales about idle princesses and wizard[esses] by now. [debbieT did you hook up with someone we know? What does your husband have to say about that???...lol]
Bedtime stories! Harumph!
I think my contribution to this week's mad house & playtime will be to add a few quotes from some of my role models:
- [Eloise]
"Getting bored is not allowed."
"Oh my Lord I am absolutely so busy I don't know how I can possibly get everything done."
"Sometimes I have a temper fit...
...But not very often."

- [Wendy Darling]
"... when a new baby laughs for the first time a new fairy is born, and as there are always new babies
there are always new fairies. They live in nests on the tops of trees; and the mauve ones are boys and the white ones are girls, and the blue ones are just little sillies who are not sure what they are."

- [the Cheshire Cat...known as Chessie at the Cathouse]
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat, "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

What I tried and learned working with this lesson today.
- Mostly I played in the preferences settings and just clicking lots of buttons to see what happened. I went fiddling through the settings and found lots of goodies that were not in DW4. XHTML compliance...woo hoo!! [No, I have not clicked it for class, debbieT...that would be working ahead. grin!] I did find the spot to make sure tags are in lower case. It was set that way by default. Now if it would only lower case the color hex numbers and the font family names. Gave me practice with the find & replace function though...lol
- DWMX automatically adds doctype. No need to add an extension for that...horrah!
- I added a couple of new font-families to my list. Worked like a charm.
- Was reminded how much I don't like <font> tags or underlined links...haha
- Learned that I need to save this lesson so I can go back and change some more preferences later. There are so many goodies available, that there is no way I will remember them all. Special thanks to debbieT for adding the paths to change some of the defaults. It's very nice not to have to tear the old puter apart looking for them or manually changing things like .htm at every turn. Why do they set the default to .htm anyway??? lol
- I learned that debbieT writes wonderful detailed lessons....thanks, lady, these are going to be a great help in navigating DW-MX!!!!
I don't *think* I used any work ahead tags here....humm, margins in page properties maybe, but I took them out when I remembered they don't work consistently across browers anyway....haha
One Question: Where do I find the validator that comes with DW & Homesite? I haven't spotted it yet.
